Current transformers are being transformed into artistic objects in Drenas - Telegrafi
Near the Bus Station in Drenas, the electricity transformer has taken on a completely different look. Once, this transformer was filled with inscriptions, but from now on it will be a landmark.
This is because this substation has already been transformed into a modern artistic object by the graphic art of local artists. Just like this transformer, some of these are being transformed into artistic objects in different neighborhoods of Drenas.
All this is possible thanks to the cooperation of KEDS with the Municipality of Drenas, within the Art n'Trafo project. The purpose of this cooperation is to transform KEDS substations into urban objects, giving life to the neighborhoods where they are allocated and at the same time enabling the promotion of art and young artists.
The Director of the Directorate for Urban Planning and Environmental Protection in the Municipality of Drenas, Flutra Avdiu, says that these projects are having a positive impact on the community.
"Through this collaboration with KEDS, we are transforming the transformers into urban works of art. Thus, we are giving colors to the city of Drenas. Undoubtedly, all this reflects in positivity for everyone who passes there first. We intend to continue this cooperation in the future, in order to give our artists the necessary space to display their artistic works in the community", said Avdiu.
Meanwhile, the Director of Communications at KEDS, Naxhije Pajaziti-Arifaj, says that KEDS is committed to providing services with electricity, to be at the service of the community through activities within the framework of Corporate Social Responsibility.
"KEDS, since the beginning of its operation, has been committed to, in addition to providing electricity services, supporting the community through various activities within the framework of Corporate Social Responsibility. Among them is the Art n'Trafo project, which we started in Pristina, we are continuing in Drenas and we intend to implement it in the whole of Kosovo. We are transforming substations into modern, urban and artistic objects. Our artists are being promoted, while the neighborhoods are being revitalized," said Pajaziti-Arifaj.
This is not the first initiative for painting substations by KEDS. Such projects have been developed a few months ago in Pristina, where dozens of transformers have received an artistic appearance.
The Art n'Trafo project is an initiative of KEDS, where, through cooperation with municipalities, the transformation of substations into urban objects is aimed. KEDS, being part of these projects, expresses its determination and willingness to play a major role in Corporate Social Responsibility activities, which directly affect the quality of life of the community.
